Hair loss

Before the end of the medical checkup I saw the doctor. First I got a flu shot. Then he looked through the X-ray picture of my chest, cardiograph chart and listened to my chest with a stethoscope.
"No problem at all. Is there anything you feel wrong?" He said.
"Not really....oh, my hair, if anything. Coming off heavily." I said.
He raised his eyes from our eye contact to my head.
"Looks not bad for a man of age 60."
"59"
"Oh, sorry, 59" He glanced at my medical record on the computer screen as if to confirm.
"But if it continues at this rate, I'm afraid no hair will remain on my head within a few years. My grand father was a perfect baldie. Besides I have no beard growing enough to make it up, even though at a different place."
"If you say so we can administer pills to prevent hair loss."
"Really? Does it really work?" My face lightened up with hope.
"Yes but not perfect. For some people it has little effect."
"Is there any side-effect?"
"It has, but only on your purse. It is not covered by health insurance. It damages about ten thousand yen per month."
"Oh...... I would rather let nature take its course, then." I said.
"I would not recommend either." He said scratching his head... on which was thinning hair.
