山川草木

Ice-glazed trees are standing like white statues of the dead, sometimes blown in a blizzard, sometimes in a background of a perfect blue sky and a dazzling sun. Music by 石川泰 is instrumental, simply flowing as the camera pans through the statue-dotted white field.
This is today's "Mountain, river, grass and tree. 山川草木", an NHK BS 103 program. It is only 5 minute program. But watching it, I always find myself in a strange feeling. The music and scene start to melt together, intermingle with each other into something vague neither fish nor fowl, gradually involving myself in it. The borders that divides them just seems to melt and gone. I kind of get lost until my wife says something to me or the program ends.
If you have time, I recommend that you watch it without thinking anything. If it's boring, it is only 5 minutes' patience long.
