Returning the Calendar to the first day.

We have had a few cold days. Our dog's drinking water in a bowl iced up this morning. She came to me and licked once on the ice surface and went away. I followed her to the garden crunching my way on the frost columns. How many years ago did we have this thick frost columns last?
Shaded by the tall trees left untrimmed for 2 years, the garden looked dark and cold. This year I must have the trees pruned. I have two reasons I am reluctant about it. One is that they perfectly screen the ugly surfaces of an apartment house standing adjacent to my house. They give us green instead of artificial bluish gray of the building.
The other reason... It is expensive. Last time it was about \160,000. The pruner told me it was mainly because of the dumping cost of pruned branches. Two years ago I climbed up the biggest tree and pruned it by myself. It took 2 days. Last year I had a frozen shoulder and could not do. Since my shoulder feels a lot better I hinted to my family my idea of pruning the tree again by myself this year. They all strongly opposed. I am not young enough as I might think of myself. I am not equal to that type of job any more... They are right. Better to pay than to get injured or die falling from the top of the 7 meter-high tree.
I am turning 60 this year. It is the year of my "returning calendar" and I am expected to start my life all over again from scratch. But their advice discouraged me a bit.
