Snow

Snowed last night. This house I'm living in temporarily is closely surrounded by neighboring houses so that I could not see from windows the snow falling. I just sensed it from the heavy, wet, coldness in the air and imagined it accumulating on the roads. This morning the sky has cleared up and the snow that should have accumulated was almost gone.
When I was a child, it snowed more in Tokyo. I remember how I'd complain about slush and wet socks when I went to and back from school. How much I enjoyed the snow-ball fight. Being the weak child that I was, I caught cold whenever I got too far carried away into the play to care about the coldness and overstayed outdoors.
It was colder then. But I am fairly certain that it is partly because I lived in a house with little heat insulation and low power oil heaters. It was so bad but something to recall with nostalgia. Hardship is not bad... unless you are currently in the middle of it^^
