Fraud

Fraud:
1) A deception practiced deliberately in order to secure unfair gain. 2) One that defrauds.
If you replace the word "gain" with "vote", this government is a fraud by definition 2).
Here is what they said to the effect before the last election;
Don't want to pay the gasoline tax? No problem, We'll get rid of it. Are your kids eating you house and home? Don't worry, we'll give you some money; rich and poor alike. Too expensive highway tolls? OK, we'll make it free. Dangerous US military bases? Don't worry, if you leave it to us we'll kick them out of our country. Wonder where all the money comes from? No worry, We can easily get the resource by reviewing and sorting out the government projects and public corporations without any increase in consumption tax rate.
Today 13 thousand yen was paid per child (this amount is per month). Generous handout of money out of the debt from the same people who receive the handout. But this is almost the only promise, only half of it to say correctly (since their promise was 26 thousand), that they barely kept.
We can say the last election was, slightly in hindsight, unprecedented fraud ever happened in this country.
Still I can't say the change of the ruling party was a total failure. We learned a lot from it. We learned a lot about Okinawa, public corporations, secret promise with the US.... DPJ has perhaps learned more, how hard it is to be in a ruling position rather than in a opposition party, just telling people pretty words and being opposed to everything that the ruling party said.
It may be a necessary failure to step up to the next stage. But at least they have to assume the responsibility first, for telling the eventual lies even if it was not intended, even if they admit they had been so naive.
Next time....
