Tick Battle

Tick Battle

I'm pretty busy today because I have to kill ticks.
A few weeks ago a mouse appeared from a hole in a wall. We covered the hole with a veneer board to lock it up inside the wall.
Around this time, my mom suffered itchy bites all over her body. We suspected ticks and we did almost everything to remove them. We dried her futon by a futon dryer which supposedly kill ticks with high temperature air. It didn't work. We discarded her expensive feather futon, which she had used for 40 years, and changed it to a new one. When we knew it didn't work either, we brought the bed mattress outside and dried it under the sunshine. Still she's got new itchy bites. At last I suggested that she should consult a dermatologist. On taking a look at her skin the doctor said "This is clearly the case with house ticks that live on rats." My mom told the doctor all about our failed attempt. She (the doctor) said "the rats may live above the ceiling and ticks are falling all the time from it upon your face while you are sound asleep." This explains everything, we thought. So following the advice, she brought her futon to the living room and slept the night there. The next morning, no trace of bite. Now, we know the doc is perfectly right. I bought a fumigation chemical (ダニアース)yesterday.
I've got to go. I'm going up to the attic and set up the chemical. I hope I will not have an unfortunate encounter with rats there. I am not too fond of them....
