On an early spring day

I jogged yesterday. I jogged fast, jogged slow, kept jogging slow and jogged fast again. I went like this for a mile before I took about 200 m walk. Never mind that my fast-jog was a little faster than a young guy walking brisk. Never mind my face was covered with a big surgical mask that purportedly keeps allergy-inducing cider pollen out. Never mind that liquid from my runny nose soaked the mask and made air a little difficult to come through it to my nose. I just kept jogging. I slow-jogged on my way home, too tired to make it eventful. It took about 25 minutes overall.
I'm not sure if this will finally makes my body and spirit, spirit especially, strong enough to complete the full distance of a marathon. I'm beginning to be skeptical. But anyway I have to keep it up, because my wife also took up jogging aiming to make an entry to the Tokyo City Marathon. Now I can't quit before she quits. She has an advantage of youth over me...
Well, I gotta go. My wife is urging me. We are leaving home to jog in the park. My wife made some onigiri or rice balls and we will eat them together in an early spring sunshine, after the jogging.
