Happy moment

I got an email from my friend a few days ago with 2 newspaper clips that reported a wedding on the Valentine's day. One of the newspapers uses a full page to report this auspicious event (The right photo is on it). I know the bride. When I first met her she was only 12, a cute girl with a shy smile. She is one of the daughters of my Australian friend. In the photo she looks a matured lady with a happiest smile..... 18 years have passed since then....
The bridegroom was a professional surfer. They have been together for 11 years and decided the international day of love for their wedding because, according to the news paper, "I didn't want to get to 12 years and not be married."
To me Australia seems different from other Europe-originated countries. People there have a keen sense of happiness. They strongly want themselves and others, including animals, to be happy. At a happy moment, such as this wedding, they cannot but show their happiness to other people to an extent that is almost too much for us Japanese. People celebrate them to exactly the same extent. Nobody in Japan would like to read about someone's wedding even if it is held on the Valentine's day.
I like them. And I would like to celebrate the happy couple, though in a little quieter way.
