On a happy day

My mother in law came to visit us the other day from Ibaraki. We thought and thought out how to entertain the lonely widow during her short visit. We somehow came up with an idea that we should take her a bus tour called "pigeon bus". One of the tour courses goes to China-town to have lunch, then goes to an Aquarium in Hakkeijima, and end the tour with visiting an old warehouse-turned cool shopping place called red-brick warehouse. It looks fun. I haven't been to the aquarium or warehouse. I asked who would like to join. My mother, wife, son, and niece. The tour group became of 6 members. Oh, if we are going in such a big group, we can do exactly the same thing cheaper, by using my car which is actually a small bus. So we left our house 11 o'clock, me as a driver and my wife as a tour guide with two widows to be entertained and two young ones as luggage.
First to China town. We got there a little before noon. As we walked a while along the street flanked by a row of Chinese restaurants, we entered one of them for no special reason but that there were less customers. Each of us ordered one from 4 options of lunch special. We did not expect much about the taste, volume or quality of the lunch judging from the price. But.... in fact every dish was great. So good that everyone picked up some from each other's dish and exchanged a whisper of admiration. The main dish came with a cup of soup, a bowl of rice and almond jelly as dessert. We were so satisfied that we almost felt like going home.
The aquarium was fun. I always enjoy watching various kinds of fish swimming in a relaxed, easygoing manner. There, I liked the big aquarium in which tens of thousands of sardines were swimming in a swarm, making the school look like one big fish. It was especially beautiful when one small disturbance propagated to the entire fish, reflecting light with their silver shining body. The tour was highlighted by the marine-animal show. when the show began I could not helping moving to a seat in the third row from the pool side so that I could get some splash from dolphins. I loved a walrus with long beard which showed us various poses supposedly sexy right in front of my eyes. I have seen dolphin shows many times and I never been bored of watching them jumping high above the water, amazing swimming speed or carrying the person on their back. Although my duty was to entertain the two widows, I forgot all about it and found myself greatly amused^^.
After the show we felt like touching them. We went to "fureai (contact with animal) park" where we rubbed a penguin, a whale and a dolphin. The dolphin felt much like the surface of a rubber boot, smooth slippery and elastic. I could not help thinking about its hydrodynamic effect together with its body shape. It is ideal in that respect. I told my son something about it which seemed to just pass almost unheard.
Redbrick warehouse was rather a place for young lovers. We looked around walking in three pairs; my wife and me, my son and my niece, and two old widows. We rambled through the tenant shops chatting, commenting and criticizing. At the end of the building, we had Italian dinner. I ordered spaghetti. I like any kind of noodles, whether Japanese, Chinese or Italian.
It was a nice day. At least I enjoyed it. I just wondered Why my life is so happy and good. I just hope my mother in law felt the same....
