Born in the north

7:00, Slept longer a bit. Cloudy again. Wet ground. It seems the rain front is back and has brought torrential rain in Korean Peninsula. Many fatalities are reported as it caused floods and landslides. Yet in North Korea, even the number of fatalities is not announced... as always. One can only guess it should be a disaster. What's the use of hiding how many? National pride? Putting up a dignified face while asking for financial aid... What kind of joke is it?
Being born in which side of that peninsula separates the fate of a baby. If the baby is born in the north communist country side, how should s/he live? If the baby were you, how? You have a right to live happily trying hard to be admitted by the society to be a good citizen to get a promotion, to be something in the country. Then you would join the group that does the grandiose foolishness on a national scale. Success stories are prepared in any country in its own version. It can't be helped. You were educated to believe that that was the right thing to do and would have your own value of life. That is the way a regime survives. We, living in other countries, can easily see through the folly of the political system and the rulers. But how hard it would be were we born in that country! We can't blame your way of living for committing overt and covert acts of helping the stupid regime live longer.
Everybody has to live in a situation given to them. How should they handle the situation is all up to themselves. But the options are very much limited if they are not provided with enough information. The dictatorship regime knows it well. Information control is always the key to stabilizing the profit of rulers.
