Save Dolphins from Japan

Two days ago an Australian friend of mine sent me an e-mail inviting me to join a group "Save the Dolphins from Japan". I visited the group's web site.
There were three short video clips http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGyK9CcNde8 that showed "brutality" of Japanese fishermen to dolphins, followed by comments from her friends.
Let me quote some.
"Why do people have to do stuff like this?"
"I hate that people do this, its horrible and I dont see a need for it? I think we should stick to basic meat being chicken, beef and pork but use a humane way to kill them as they are not being treated fairly either!"
"russia, please, nuke japan =)"
"It's always the japs who do whatever the world doesnt want them to do. ---1.Killing Dolphins (Austrailia & UN against) ---2.War Crimes : Human Experiments, MAssacre, Bio Weapons, Comfort women, Cannibalism (there are 19 more to go !) ---3. Fur trade ---4. Nuclear Weapon Research ---5. Being Bowing, Praying at Yaskuni shrine, where the Executed War Criminals are placed."
"Very brutal Japanese fishermen(非常殘暴的日本漁民)"
What do you think?
This is the way how the world starts to spin wrong. I wrote my comment to the above comments.

Make a film of a lamb being slaughtered for your BBQ.
I do not advocate dolphin fishing any more than I advocate cow slaughter. It is disgusting to see people putting on a face of good people forgetting intentionally about what they are actually doing and always jumping on the bandwagon to blame others. It really makes me sick.
What people think of as cruel is deeply based on their culture. For the Japanese, eating land animals like cows or lambs used to be considered cruel because they are more closely akin to human species than fish. Dolphines apparently look like fish and they did not feel it brutal to kill them. It looked very much like killing tuna. Naturally they feel less resistance to kill them than killing lambs.
In western countries, some people can't eat horse meat because to them horse is a riding animal not for eating while eating beef. What's the difference? This is a consequence of their culture. This is a matter of what you have been used to. Understanding culture of different countries is quite important. What America did to Iraq basically stems from lack of understanding to islamic culture.
If it is not about the extinction of the species, the argument of cruelty is reduced to imposing selfish thought on each other.
