A climber

6:30.
20 degree C. Chilly. The typhoon finally has brought with it enough rain to wet the ground under leafy trees in my garden. Still raining a little.
A strange typhoon it was. It came from the south, hit Shikoku, and now, as if to bounce off, is going back to the south east. Amazingly this course was predicted by the meteorological bureau.
A typhoon takes its course along the valley line (trough) between higher pressures. This typhoon was very slow. It means that a stable high-pressure air mass stays over Japan like a soaring mountain and it stood in the way. The typhoon No6 started to climb the mountain very slowly off the coast of Kochi, then went around to find an eastern route to avoid the steep slope, consumed energy along the way, and at last gave up to return home. That's funny.
